We returned to our original ‘home’ for the last meeting of 2018-2019.  The newly refurbished room is very good indeed, giving us our own space and opportunity to organise group work much more easily.  There are still some problems with the acoustics but we will work to overcome them.  Being able to use the same room for the afternoon meeting was excellent.  We are very grateful to Joanne on the Library staff for organising all of this for us.  We were delighted to welcome a new Welsh speaking friend who heard about us as a result of our visit to Denbigh in May.  Rhiannon will be an asset to the Club and of great help to the learners.  Anne and Margaret reported back on their fantastic week in Nant Gwrtheyrn with Bethan Gwanas.  They also met one of our favourite authors, Manon Steffan Ros, whose book “Stryd y Bont” is being studied at the moment.   Anne’s group had a much greater focus on speaking, rather than reading and writing today.  This was great fun, and will be included in all future lessons.  Brian’s Welsh cakes were first class – so popular that he realises he needs to bake twice as much next time.  There is no meeting in August, in order to allow members the chance to visit the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Llanrwst, and unfortunately the Library is not available for our September meeting.  We are likely to meet in The Stanley Arms instead.  Full details will be posted in due course.

Cyfarfyddon yn ein ‘cartref’ gwreiddiol ym mis Gorffennaf.  Roedd y stafell ar ei newydd wedd – yn dda iawn, wir, yn rhoi cyfle i ni fod ar wahan i bobol eraill ac i drefnu gwaith grŵp yn hawdd.  Mae na broblemau efo’r acwstig ond fe weithiwn i’w goresgyn.  Roedd y gallu i ddefnyddio’r un ystafell yn y prynhawn yn wych.  Dan ni’n gwerthfawrogi cefnogaeth Joanne, aelod staff y Llyfrgell, yn yr achos hwn.  Pleser mawr oedd croesawu Cymraes Gymraeg newydd i’n plith – mi wnaeth Rhiannon glywed amdanon yn sgîl ein hymweliad â Dinbych.  Mi fydd hi’n fuddiol iawn i’r dysgwyr.  Siaradodd Anne a Margaret am eu hamser bendigedig yng nghwmni Bethan Gwanas yn Nant Gwrtheyrn.  Wnaethon nhw gyfarod â Manon Steffan Ros hefyd, un o’n hoff awduron.  Dan ni’n astudio ei llyfr “Stryd y Bont” ar hyn o bryd.  Roedd ffocws grŵp Anne ar siarad, yn hytrach na darllen neu ysgrifennu heddiw.  Cawson llawer o hwyl gyda hwn, ac mi fydd yn rhan annatod o’n gwersi yn y dyfodol.  Mwynhaon teisennau Brian cymaint mae o’n deall fydd rhaid gwneud mwy o lawer y tro nesa.  Does dim cyfarfod ym mis Awst, er mwyn rhoi cyfle i’n haelodau fynd i’r Eisteddfod Genedlaethol  yn Llanrwst, ac yn anffodus dydy’r Llyfrgell ddim ar gael mis Medi.  Mae’n debyg fyddwn yn cyfarfod yn y  Stanley Arms.  Bydd y manylion i gyd yma yn y pen draw.
