Clwb Siarad 7/9/17 – Learn Welsh with us each month

An excellent start to the new ‘term’, with lots in attendance despite some being ‘off sick’.  The number of regular attenders has doubled in the past year.  It was a very busy meeting, with much to discuss.  In the afternoon we had our first “Literature Group” meeting, where we looked at Hedd Wyn’s most famous poem, “Rhyfel”, and agreed to start reading Caryl Lewis’ book, “Martha, Jac a Sianco.”  This has been translated into English and can be seen as a film on You Tube.  On Saturday 9/9/17, Brian and I attended an outstanding event in Birkenhead – the Hedd Wyn Festival, organised by Liverpool Welsh Society.  The next event for Clwb Siarad is the guided walk starting from The New Continental pub in Preston on Saturday, 23rd September, at 10.45am.  See our What’s On page for more details.  Clwb Siarad’s next monthly meeting is on Thursday 5 October 2017 at 10.00am.

Dechreuad ardderchog i’r ‘tymor’ newydd; roedd llawer yn bresennol er gwaetha’r ffaith bod nifer ddim yn iach.  Mae rhif y mynychwyr cyson wedi dwblu dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf.  Roedd yn gyfarfod prysur, gyda chymaint i drafod.  Yn y prynhawn, cynhaliwyd cyfarfod cyntaf ein “Grŵp Llên”.  Edrychon ar gerdd enwocaf Hedd Wyn, “Rhyfel” a chytunon i ddechrau darllen llyfr Caryl Lewis, “Martha, Jac a Sianco”.  Mae hwn wedi cael ei gyfieithu i’r Saesneg a gellir edrych ar ffilm ohono ar “You Tube”.    Ar ddydd Sadwrn, 9/9/17, wnaeth Brian a finnau ymweld ag achlysur gwych ym Mhenbedw – Gŵyl y Gadair Ddu, wedi’i threfnu gan Gymdeithas Etifeddiaeth Glannau Mersi.  Digwyddiad nesa Clwb Siarad ydy’r daith gerdded sy’n dechrau o’r Continental yn Preston ar ddydd Sadwrn, 23ain Medi, am 10.45yb.  Gweler ein tudalen “What’s On” am ragor o fanylion.
