This year is the 150^th anniversary of the sailing of the ship, the Mimosa, from Liverpool Dock, carrying the first Welsh settlers to a new life in Patagonia in Argentina.   To mark the occasion, we are showing the film “Patagonia” on  Tuesday, 15 September, at  The Continental, in South Meadow Street, Preston, starting at 6.30 pm.

The film is about “the journey of two women, one looking for her past and the other for her future”, and stars Matthew Rhys, Marta Lubos, Nahuel Perez Bisayart, Nia Roberts and Duffy.   One of the women “travels South to North through the Welsh springtime and the other East to West through the Argentine Autumn”.  The dialogue is in Welsh and Spanish with English subtitles, and the film carries a ‘15’ rating.
